So if you have a mental illness, go out and kill someone, your lawyer will use that in your defense!

Come on!!

This is why mental illness is such a horrible thing in the eyes of the world. People shouldn’t use that as a defense and if it true and that’s why you killed people…then you don’t need a lawyer, you need help.

Anderson takes part in an experiment to help understand how people live with mental illness

So glad that people in the public are trying to help out mental illness patients, but I think we may need someone who has a little more IT factor for it to be listened to…

How about Oprah?
Lebron James?
JESUS?

Thanks Anderson for bringing more light on such a dark subject!

Seattle shooting suspect treated for mental illness, attorney says

Seattle shooting suspect treated for mental illness, attorney says

“The suspect in the Thursday shootings at Seattle Pacific University has been treated in recent years for a “long-standing mental illness,” which his attorney said might have prompted the deadly assault inside an engineering building at the small Christian campus.”

Oh really… you don’t say.

It seems like our brethren doesn’t know how to yell out for help. Or maybe the people around them are denying them help. I don’t know what’s going on but I know that there needs to be a way for them to yell out before hurting someone…

or maybe they have been yelling for help, but no one is listening…

Too much time on web ‘gives children mental health problems’

Too much time on web ‘gives children mental health problems’

Well, DUH!

There is no sunshine. No interacting with friends. No running, jumping, falling, hitting, laughing until the street lights come on.

Kids now are hook into the Matrix all day long with cellphones, internet, TV, radio. Anything and everything prevents them from going into the fresh air. Soon we will be looking like the people off of the Disney movie ‘WALL-E’:

Lazy, with a side of Mental Illness.

What do you think?

Black Box

A new TV show that is coming soon to the ABC network called Black Box. According to IMDb the synopsis is

“Catherine Black, a famed neuroscientist, with a job at the Center for Neurological Research and Treatment, struggles with mental illness and its one of the many secrets she hides from her fiancé and her family.”

I am intrigued. I’m going to watch it and support the show because it is exposing mental illness to the public, but I am going to be weary because sometimes the portrayal of mental illness on screen is scary and overwhelming.

Please watch it with me and let discuss what you think!

Fort Hood shooter was Iraq vet being treated for mental health issues

Fort Hood shooter was Iraq vet being treated for mental health issues

I am sorry for the people lost in this tragic accident.

That being said, this is another example of how the media portrays mental illness. Tomorrow, everyone with a mental illness will be looked at in a different light by people who don’t have mental illness themselves. I not saying your mother, brother, wife, or child. I am talking about the “world” view.

I wish in cases like these, they tell you what mental illness is, how it can affect a person’s mind and life. I wish they would let us talk.

Nearly 1 in 5 US Army soldiers had mental illness before they enlisted: study

Nearly 1 in 5 US Army soldiers had mental illness before they enlisted: study

What!?

I don’t much about anything military, so but I quote this from the article:

“One reason for the rise in these figures may have been the rush to fill ranks during the Afghanistan and Iraq war years, with recruiters telling enlistees to not volunteer that they had mental health afflictions.”

(Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/20-army-enlistees-mental-disorder-study-article-1.1710644#ixzz2v9WZNDaS)

Are these recruiters getting money with every person enlisted through them? If so, WE NEED TO CUT THAT. How many mentally illed people UN-VOLUNTARILY were there too? If you can’t tell the people around you sometimes that you have a mental illness, then how are you going to tell a recruiter that is waving money and benefits at you.

I wanted to join the military. I stood crying in my living room to my husband about how I might think that the military was the only thing left for me. My life was shit. I was going to amount to nothing.. I was also in the not medicated, drinking, smoking, losing it, mind running, really really angry, happy one minute, bad thoughts zone, but thought about enlisting. I didn’t.

I didn’t want to put someone’s else life in my hands at times, when I couldn’t hold my own.

So, here I am..

Carroll weighs in on medicinal pot

So, wait a dog on minute!

A coach from a BAZILLION dollar sports industry kind of agreed with medicinal marijuana? Really?

So, when is it going to be really MEDICINAL everywhere? Because it’s popping up ALOT!

The NFL is a huge company and arena around the world, and for one of their own to talk about marijuana in a way such as this makes me feel like a revolution is coming.

Next, lets test strains, find out which ones really helps and not make you addicted and lazy, and start putting it into the world for mental illness patients, because does millionaires who play a sport really need marijuana? really??

Mental health evaluation ordered in ‘exorcism’ slayings

Mental health evaluation ordered in ‘exorcism’ slayings

Did anyone read about this?

Two women are being charged for killing two kids because they said that they were possessed by demons! Now, they are being mentally evaluted to see if they are crazy.

UMMM…YEAH! They are crazy! but not you and me kind of crazy, they are CRAY CRAY CRAZY!

but.. if they do have a mental illness, then yes this is another case of the mind getting to these women and making them do horrible things…but…

both women had the same mental illness?

both women both saw the same “demon”

were they on drugs?

What if there really was a demon, like for real?

The women described themselves as “demon assassins”. What if they really were, like some Keanu Reeve Constantine shit…

I don’t know at all, but what I do know is if you take a life, you need to be evaluated for everything!

Mental Illness x Marijuana x3

http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/jan/19/letters-marijuana-gloria-gun/

“Researchers from the University of Bristol, Imperial College and Cambridge University examined 35 studies that tracked tens of thousands of people for periods ranging from one year to 27 years to examine the effects of marijuana use on mental health. They found that people who used marijuana had roughly a 40 percent higher chance of developing a psychotic disorder later in life. Dr. Wilson Compton, a senior scientist at the National Institute on Drug Abuse in Washington, called the study persuasive.”

Does anyone believe that what you read in the news isn’t anyways the truth? I do. I mean, I know I have blogged about marijuana and mental illness before, but this time, I am not so sure.

I mean everyone’s body and mind are different. They are effected by different things, we have different senses and thoughts, so how can marijuana really do that to everyone? I have stopped using weed because, for me, it wasn’t helping me anymore. It became an ADDICTION. An addiction that helped my mind, yes, but an addiction nonetheless. I think that marijuana helps people with mental illness. It shuts your mind out, makes you feel okay and creative. It brings people closer to other people. It’s a revenue to millions of families out there…

but..

the more its okay in the world to use legally, the more the news is going to tell you bad shit. Isn’t that how the world works?

The people in power are always holding the big stick..

Smoke. Don’t smoke. Its your choice. Yours alone.

Mentally Ill Are Often Locked Up In Jails That Can’t Help

Mentally Ill Are Often Locked Up In Jails That Can’t Help

Well whst else are you going to do with the mentally illed?

Leave them on the streets? Put them into shelters? Group homes?

HOW ABOUT HELP THEM?! How about start something where these people can go, get help, get on track, make sure they are doing well, and then release them. HELP! HELP!

The four letter word most people don’t know about when it comes to the mentally illed. It sucks to think that they are sitting in a place, they don’t belong, because society doesn’t know what to do with them..

WITH US!

How can we change this? How can we make this right and bring these people the care they need? UGH!

I have no answers other than… train good people, who REALLY care, and bring them into those jails.

Child taken from womb by social services

Child taken from womb by social services

Have you seen this?

Officials have forcefully taken a woman’s baby from HER WOMB because she suffered a mental breakdown!!

EXCUSE ME?! Can they do that? Because of a mental illness? You’ve got to be shitting me?

If you don’t want to read it all, here is a snippet:

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is an Italian national who come to Britain in July last year to attend a training course with an airline at Stansted Airport in Essex.

She suffered a panic attack, which her relations believe was due to her failure to take regular medication for an existing bipolar condition.

She called the police, who became concerned for her well-being and took her to a hospital, which she then realised was a psychiatric facility.

She has told her lawyers that when she said she wanted to return to her hotel, she was restrained and sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Meanwhile, Essex social services obtained a High Court order in August 2012 for the birth “to be enforced by way of caesarean section”, according to legal documents seen by this newspaper.

The woman, who says she was kept in the dark about the proceedings, says that after five weeks in the ward she was forcibly sedated. When she woke up she was told that the child had been delivered by C-section and taken into care.”
